2011.04.16  Spring 2011 BACPS Meeting
TAGS: bacps, ucbg

A well-attended spring meeting.

I brought in some sarracenia for the auction table which brought up the fact that mine are in full flower, while most others seem to be waiting for the next month or so. Perhaps it's their location on concrete in full sun that does it.

I also brought in a drosophyllum for auction - a lot of people were curious about my growing conditions, but these do quite well outdoors for me, even in the rain as long as they are well-drained and well established. They don't like to get their leaves wet when young, and freezing is not so good, but otherwise, they are good little Mediterranean plants.

Drew, Gina and Arthur spoke about their trip to Borneo on a Nepenthes viewing tour - lots of neat pictures and stories.

Lastly, it happened to be Cal Day at Berkeley, and we therefore did not even need to pay for parking.
